ABOUT US
- We are a cats loving family cattery registered with TICA an we have dedicated our hearts to raising Maine Coons, and proudly follow TICA‘s Code of Ethics for Breeders. With our love for the Maine Coon, we hope to preserve and share this wonderful breed type and their beautiful high smokes, shaded and pale silver colors; but more importantly to us is sharing a healthy kitten.
Comprehensive Health Testing: Going Beyond the Standard
- While many breeders perform basic health screenings, we believe that exceptional care requires going far beyond the minimum. For this reason, every single one of our breeding cats undergoes extensive genetic testing through Optimal Selection. Moreover, we don’t stop at just one type of testing – we employ a multi-layered approach to ensure the healthiest possible bloodlines.
- First and foremost, our breeding cats are genetically tested and confirmed N/N (clear) for the four most common genetic diseases that can affect Maine Coons: HCM, SMA, PKD, and PKDef. In addition to genetic testing, each parent cat is examined by a licensed cardiologist. During these examinations, both ECG and echocardiogram scans are performed to screen for any signs of heart disease. As a result, we can confidently say that our breeding cats have been cleared at the highest level of cardiac screening available.
- Furthermore, we test all breeding cats for FIV and FeLV to ensure they are negative for these serious infectious diseases. Similarly, hip evaluations are conducted on each breeding cat to check for proper structure and development. Ultimately, this comprehensive approach means that your kitten comes from parents who have been thoroughly vetted for both genetic and physical health.
HAPPY & HEALTHY BABIES
We work hard to ensure our families a healthy kitten, strong pedigrees, long healthy lines, with a 2-yearS Genetic Health Guarantee. We love to meet each of our kitten’s new families and are happy to have you come here to our home for Kitten Pickup Day, where each parent’s tests and pedigrees can be viewed then, too.
VETERINARY CARE
Our kittens are seen by a licensed Veterinarian for each well visit and have 2 rounds of their FVRCP series vaccinations.
PRESCREENING
Each of our parents are pre-screened for breeding and have a full genetic test panel done through Optimal Selection. Our kittens are only from parents who are N/N (clear) for each genetic disease, HCM, SMA, PKD, and PKDef, that Maine Coons can carry genes for. Their parents are also seen by a licensed Cardiologist with ECG’s and echocardiograms done for HCM are clear. Hips are checked, and they are negative for FIV / FeLV, as well.
